So here we are two years on from both leaving “normal” jobs and trying out mad, crazy and fun life experiences – with the odd bit of work thrown in 😉

Difficult to summarise all that we’ve done so far, so I’ll (Pete) just tell you about today and you can all formulate your own opinions on it and how much I’m enjoying it.

So I’ve had an Israeli family for the last three days (Dad and two sons) and the eldest one hasn’t really wanted to listen to me……. The youngest is nervous and nearly bottled a blue run yesterday but he believed me when I said he could do it and in the end he did the run 3 times and was loving it. So today when the Dad said I only had the youngest boy I was quite happy. So we repeated that blue run but then we went and did a harder blue twice, with a break to make a snow lion to let his legs recover.

He said it was amazing day when we met his Dad, and he was brave enough to do bunny rabbit ears past the piste cameraman, plus at the end of the day I was given a tip from the dad.

Then mid lesson my mate Aussie Paul rang me ! I answered assuming it was my boss ! He was spewing when I turned the camera around and he saw me skiing and doing 360’s whilst following the young lad 🙂 He wondered where his life choices went wrong…. However his daughter Amber was there with him, so not all bad choices.

Then just as I thought my day was finished the boss called to say I had two children because their Dad had broken his leg the day before and couldn’t ski with them !!! So I imagined traumatised kids turning up who didn’t know how to ski…. but instead it was a 10 & 14 year old on Blades (short, trick skis to those not in the know ). So I said I’m not sure I can give you a lesson in them and they said “Oh we don’t need a lesson, we are good skiiers, we just want fun” 🙂 Then followed two hours of trying to find every jump and bit of powder all over the mountain – my legs were on fire but it was mega fun.

Then I met two colleagues in the shop and accidenally had a coupke of beers at the 360 Bar before topping up at the supermarket and cooking Janet some tea. Pretty rough day in the office 😉

I should mention that Janet was off work today sick with a nasty stomach bug. I don’t think her day was quite so much fun today …. but there is always tomorrow.
