After we both got struck down by the lurgy, we had just a week to get our skiing up to standard to start the Level 2 ski training (even though we wouldn’t take our level 1 exam until two weeks after the level 2 training began). No pressure!!!!

Luckily, loads of the freshly qualified guys were willing to help so we had some lessons with Hannah, Michael and then Sean who taught us to straight line down everything. Who needs to learn to turn? We were both amazed how different it is to learn to ski than snowboard – you hardly ever fall over!

We challenged ourselves to do one black run before the training commenced and Michael even found us one with moguls on it to really test us.

And it’s a good job we did. Week one of training and we were being challenged with Black Diamond runs, bumps, moguls, berms, tree runs, powder – you name it. Phew!

During the week we had amazing powder (23cm in 48 hours) which made for a great day in tree runs, mountain bike trails and powder.

Powdertastic! !!!!!!!

And then some lovely “bluebird days” where you could see mountain peaks for miles around.

And it was only minus 20c!!!!!!!!

So we have three more days of training before our Level 1 exam. We are loving the daily challenges in training plus, as we are in different groups, we are finally enjoying a little time apart each day – at least it gives us something to talk about after each session.

Also this last weekend I started as a volunteer with the Adaptive Sports team. Here I am in my lovely uniform off to meet my student for lesson 1 of 5 …
