We are a British couple that met travelling in Australia in 1997. We travelled for 5 months overland through SE Asia before settling in the Isle of Man (Pete’s homeland). After 17 years of being sensible and working hard (with some amazing 3-week holidays and a one 6 month sabbatical to travel Europe in a motorhome) we decided that the call of the rucksack was too much. There are just too many opportunities out there in the world that need exploring.
Along our way Pete hopes to find lots of friendly and interesting people, mountain biking, road cycling and perhaps some motorbikes. Janet hopes to find wildlife, kayaking and amazing blue (and warm) seas.
We both love helping friends to learn sports so decided to train to be snow sport instructors. Following two seasons training in Canada, we worked have worked each wintervas ski and snowboard instructors. One season in Bansko, Bulgaria, and three more in Hokkaido, Japan, soaking up the culture and meeting lovely people. We are currently travelling in Korea and Taiwan before heading back to the Isle of Man for the Summer and planning our next adventure.
