Today we arrived in France after a couple of days with friends and family in the UK. The UK weather wasn’t quite up to the Manx summer so we decided not to do more mountain biking and instead spent the time catching up and taking my cousin’s boys to the park. What fun!

After a great night with a good friend in Deal we pootled to Dover this morning to find the boats delayed due to the fog / sea mist (sounds like the normal Isle of Man!).

An hour and a half late we boarded our boat and had a calm crossing watching out for those Channel Swimmers (didn’t see any) but we did see the sun coming out.

The crossing was spent on the wifi looking to see where we should head to (we have 6 days until we need to be in Mende for Le Trefle) and we decided on a night in Arras with its lovely town square and architecture. And here we are….

We are staying in a free Aire so the first night in the van is going to test our packing and the width of our bed! Tomorrow we will visit some war tunnels (just like in Vietnam).
