A surprise hen weekend was being arranged in Edinburgh to celebrate Lauren’s engagement and imminent wedding in the Isle of Man at Christmas. Janet was upset not to be able to go to the wedding, as we will be in Canada doing our snowboard instructor’s course, so next best thing was to get to the Hen party.
After an early start and a few hours in London Gatwick, Janet arrived in Edinburgh greeted by grey, mizzly skies and a cool breeze. It reminded her of the Isle of Man!
A great night of catch up with Di followed and then an early start to be at Primark soon after 8am. Who’d have thought we’d be up at sunrise for shopping and not on our way home from the night before?
Shopping done, a bit of sightseeing completed and Ais collected, we started the use of our Cocktail Week bracelets trying out various cocktails for only £4!
Next was the grand “pop up” jumping out of the clothes rails in Next to surprise Lauren – it worked!
Then we made our eay for a champagne afternoon tea at The Balmoral hotel. All very refined and posh (even when Lol broke a plate within seconds of arriving).
And then onto some bars for a few more drinks.
And then to gatecrash some 21st and wedding parties at The Voodoo Rooms for a boogie.
Followed by chips!
A great night. A bit more shopping on sunday (including possible hats for the wedding) and then we all left to go our various ways.
