We have been back “On the Rock” for a whole month now and it has flown by. It has been lovely to catch up with friends and family, both here and in the UK.
We went on a little reunion with a few of the guys from Sunpeaks in Leeds, and had a lovely time celebrating my Dads birthday and a stunning day trip to Wales with my parents.
We have also been decorating our house ready for new tenants to move in. I have even found a love for glossing!
And we have been doing a few jobs with Pete’s Dad.
And I have just repassed my lifeguard qualification which I need for my kayaking quals. We have had pretty wet weather since we got home and four weeks of a nasty cold which I have managed to share with everyone. This hasn’t really motivated us to be fit and sporty but I have got out kayaking a few times, Pete had been out on his trials bike and we have done some mountain biking. It has been great to ride our lovely bikes again but we’d forgotten how wet and muddy you get riding here! Even when it was a stunning day like yesterday, with clear views across to Scotland, the tracks are so wet and boggy I definitely could have done with my old mud guards in my bike!
So what next? Well we have another month before we head off to Bulgaria for a winter of teaching skiing and snowboarding in Bansko. We have jobs at a family run ski school and have recently heard that we are now officially licensed as Bulgarian ski and snowboard instructors. Eek!
