So the freedom of having our own car this year has been amazing.
After all the natural onsen trips we thought we’d go somewhere different so tried the Shirahige waterfall near Biei.

TBH there were alot more people there than we expected, who knew there were so many tourists in snowy lands, not interested in skiing!!
We then went for lunch at a famous restaurant that serves Gratin. It was on Japanese TV and in summer the line is an hour and a half long !! It was delicious but glad there was no queue π

Found a new temple in Furano which was quite cool.

Pete had some Aussie friends in town and took the opportunity to visit some other resorts with them as they are high level skiers β·οΈ ππ
Spent the morning riding the tree lines in Tomamu resort and then as they went in for lunch and met 3 ex colleagues from the Club Med season by pure chance !!! They were on a day trip from Sahoro. Turns out Hokkaido is a small world too……..

Pete and Janet also visited Kamui ski links with the Aussies and had a fun off piste day. At least we couldn’t lose Alison with her brand new pink poles!!!

Next day off went to Kamoidake, a small resort we’d never been to with the OG’S. What a fun little resort.Β Im sure the 20cm of fresh powder helped πΒ as we only even used one of the two chairlifts all day.Β We left the jumping off the the powder mushrooms to Nat & Glenn !!Β Β The fearlessness of youth.

Team OG’S also went to a Japanese friend Ellie’s house in the next village for a Shabu Shabu meal and to meet her cute cat, Bebe π
