A few years ago when marshalling for the End2End we met a lovely couple who split their annual time between Florida, France and the Isle of Man. Bizarrely the following year we were posted at the same marshal post as them for a road cycle event and we hooked up on Facebook. Fast forward a year and we are heading to their place in Latour de France, just west of Perpignan in the wine lands.
John and Brandi made us so welcome and took us into their home and fed us amazing homemade food. They took us out to see their local area which included:
A stunning gorge
Chateau de Queribus
A wine tasting (or three)
A gorgeous cycle ride round the local vineyards and past the Barrage de l’Agly.
And a few evenings of great food, drink and laughter plus hot showers and a quiet and warm bedroom. Bliss!
