Here in Modulkiri Province there is a lot more jungle, hills and greenery and suddenly no people living at the side of the road for miles. Only as we came into Sen Monorom were there once again lots of houses, shacks, stalls, shops etc. It is also cool (or not quite so hot anyway) in the evenings – bliss.
Tomorrow we are going to The Elephant Valley Project to spend some time with elephants and volunteering to help the project. We can’t wait!!!!
We will be off our phones as there is no wifi, no phone signal and electricity only between 6-9pm. A tech holiday and only the sights and sounds of the jungle to entertain us – woo hoo!!!
An update on Pete’s foot – the swelling has gone down a lot, the infected area has reduced and he is hopeful to be able to do the trekking required tomorrow. Fingers crossed by the end of his antibiotics in 3 day’s time he will be 100% and his foot won’t look like it belongs to one of the elephants anymore!
