Lessons, lessons, lessons. Can be tiring for our old limbs sometimes !!

We both find it so rewarding still though when you see that moment something clicks and you know you’ve created another skier or boarder 😍😍  or just made them think “damn that green is so easy now – can we try the blue now?”

We do try to rest on days off but somedays the snow is too good to miss !!Β

Which way ???   Tree route plotting

Luckily, we are on same day off ( mostly ) as some colleagues and friends from last season. So we’ve done some backcountry with them and recently made a trip an hour away to kamui. We were greeted by a foot of fresh powder 😍

We also met Nat’s Japanese friends there and they showed us some cool tree runs and a massive berm run that we wouldn’t have found otherwise.Β  An amazing day!

A bit snug in the car !!

Everyone’s legs were starting to feel it and then Nat started to reminisce about “World’s best burger”, that became Plan A !Β  We drove 30mins to Asahikawa and it was truly a delicious burger – just what the doctor ordered πŸ˜‹

On a different day off, we popped out to a nearby mountain that’s home to a natural onsen ( Hotspring and pools). What a remote idyllic spot, hidden away in the snow covered trees 😍

We arrived to see a naked Japanese fella cooling in the snow beside the pool. Pete got changed first and tried the pool, he thought he’d scalded his feet and ankles !!! Japanese fella laughs, says it 44c, but the other pool is cooler 😎

That pool was still hot for a Manx fella but very good for the tired muscles.

So after the most tranquil day, resting limbs and minds we were ready for another week instructing, but then it was announced that an instructor was having to go home after picking up an injury πŸ€•πŸ€• and they were having leaving drinks.Β  We said we’d go for 1 drink to keep the refreshed feeling, but then a family Pete taught last year messaged to say they were in town and wanted to buy us a drink to thank Pete. So it was fun catching up with them but they bought us 3 big beers each, then we trundled 2 doors away to the leaving party.

Coach Bella happy to be our dining table 😳

Starving we bought some fries as a stop gap ( above ), 2 more drinks everyone left. Queue massive snowball fight on walk home and a stop at macdonalds  !!!!!!   We never eat there at home but Pete had 2 meals πŸ˜‹ 🀣🀣🀣🀣

Not quite so refreshed for the start of the week !
