So Pete did get better – phew. Then got gastro πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ  he’s blaming a 5 year old he taught the day before…….   The Doctors were really good though and prescribed anti nausea,  probiotics and “stomach ” tablets.    No work sick days though πŸ’ͺ although its the 1st time we haven’t seen in New Year since we got together way back when !!

We did go to the soba noodles 🍜 place for our anniversary celebrations early NYE (the longer your noodles the longer your ife longevity allegedly) but were tucked up in bed way before midnight.

Once Pete felt human he instantly wanted to go to Chalet Burlap for Apres steins of beer 🍻   We hadn’t been there all season!!  We had a good laugh with Hilary and Craig who are also on their 3rd season here and a wobble home via Lawson for some fried chicken.

The Manx jungle drums had been beating and we’d heard that after a few other resorts a group of Manxies decided on Furano for the end of their trip….   so for the 2nd night in a row !! we were at Burlap 🍻  Pete (IOM farmer πŸ˜€) joined us and we had a good night chatting good powder spots, followed by Japanese curry at Janet’s favourite restaurant.

We then met Jen and got to show her some slopes and offer her some ski tips.  Then we met Pete, Jen and her fella Chris for ramen at our favourite spot.  Sadly Chris was ill and hadn’t been able to get out skiing.

Next day we were on day off and drove Jen up to the natural onsen, she was blown away by it’s beauty and couldn’t believe it was free !!   Quote was, “I’d pay any amount for this experience, its just so unique” 😍

We did get the chance to ski & board with the Manxies next day off. There was some great powder that day which they enjoyed but Pete was definitely more of a sendy powder rider.  So you can imagine how gutted he was when the day they had to leave to drive to the airport there had been 70cm of snow overnight πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

That was the best mornings riding we’ve had in Japan β„οΈβ„οΈβ„οΈπŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚ and luckily we’d met a friend Eli in the lift line as she’s sendy & on a powder board so was great fun to follow, rather than get buried in the deep snow.

Deep JaPow for breakfast

We had enjiyed a last meal out with the Manxies at an Italian,  fresh cooked delicious pasta for 900Β₯ or Β£4.50 a dish !!!    Hiromi a Japanese colleague, had taken us there a few nights before and it was so good that we rushed back.

The next day off we drove to Kamui Ski Links with the OG’S aka Nat, Glenn & Jas and had a great day on the groomers carving away on our boards followed by a pizza πŸ•  before the drive home.

Other than that its been lots of lesson’s aka work but we’ve both had lovely, keen students this year that have progressed a lot and made the days fun.  The school have also put on quite a lot of evening training for us which is great as we get to ride/ski fast but improve too.

The last week has been COLD πŸ₯Ά (often minus 20 with wind chill) and looks set to continue!!!!   Good for snow conditions but not our face or toes in lessons
