For the last six days we have been training every day so it has been full on. When we’ve had some snow overnight we’ve had mornings playing in the powder but sometimes that is more difficult than you might imagine.

For one of our first runs our instructor, Kyle, took us down a double black Diamond run full of powder and butts and told us not to sideslip – what?????? A few of us looked like snowmen for the morning.

Some of the young guys in our training group are really used to powder and tricks so there are some impressive stunts to watch.

Once the fun is over its back to the serious stuff of learning how to teach. If we slip up and say the word bend, not flex, then we have to do 10 press ups.

Luckily neither Pete nor I have slipped up yet (or we have corrected ourselves with lightening speed).

So we have been studying in the evenings and today had a day off to practice our demonstrations and get some last minute studying in.

This weekend has also been Sun Peaks Kick Off weekend so the resort is suddenly really busy and there were lots of stalls and family activities. We ate a maple syrup lolly made on the snow, tasted local produce and even had our photo taken with santa and Liam, the elf.

So tomorrow is the start of our three day for our Level 1 exam. Fingers crossed for us …… we are off to do a bit more last minute studying.
