Today we decided to rent bicycles and cycle out to some of the further away temples. To do this we had to go past Angkor Wat again – more photos !
To get out before the worst heat of the day we set out soon after 8am but it still got pretty warm. I couldn’t face wearing trousers to cycle (you have to cover your knees to enter the temple sites) so a sarong had to be quickly put on at each stop.
At Preah Khan a local “policeman” helped us by taking some photos of the two of us – and all for just one dollar. We thought it was our wedding when he told us to look into each other’s eyes!

Then as we were melting we set off on our 13 mile return journey – thank goodness for shady trees.
And then we retired to the air con for the rest of the afternoon – bliss!
