With Rik & Emma (owners of The Wintersports Co) driving themselves to Revy, we found ourselves on a transfer with Cam and Bridget who had both been in Panorama on snow-patrol training. The 3 hours gave us a chance to get to know them better and also enjoy the stunning scenery.

The road was very icy in places (enough to bring Manx roads to a grinding halt 🤦🏻‍♂️) but it didn’t slow the driver down ! We mentioned we’d driven through Roger’s Pass during our summer Fred Road trip and he said he’d point out why it was really famous. Queue seeing mad ski lines in the powder down to the ski touring car parks !! I’d need more avalanche training before I went up there!

No problem for Canadian drivers

We got to Revelstoke, checked in, had a nose around, bought a few souvenirs and then found a Mexican with a happy hour 😎 Great food and a rather merry night with the team.

Shuttle to Revy resort next morning, covid checks complete and we all headed up for what was an epic day skiing ⛷ Turns out Bridget had been here a few years ago so she played guide 👍 After a few piste runs to warm up she took us off piste and through the trees. Turns out she was very good at finding all the cliff warning signs lol.

Then from the top chairlift we did a little hike up Lemmings Line !! We’d just met Emma and Rik but Emma was on a brand new snowboard so they opted out of joining us, which was a wise decision. Not the place to get acquainted with new kit…..

The traverse across the northern bowl certainly lived up to the Lemming name….

But then we were in some amazing powder, darting between the trees and avoiding the cliffs and frozen water falls.

You can see where Revy gets its reputation as there was just so much off piste terrain and you can just go anywhere you like. Sadly most was quite tracked out with 30cm snowfall due the day after we had to leave 😭❄ Our next day’s challenge was to ski all the pistes (groomed and moguls), which was great fun but left the legs a bit destroyed.

Even the guide had an oopsie
Just because Janet thought the owl was cute

Next day was the 3 hour transfer to Sun Peaks (home for the next week) with our new friends, Cam and Bridget.

Sun Peaks – where the ski/board instructor dream started 3 years earlier.
