Today I went on Fred”s tour with 11 others from our guesthouse “ZZ Guesthous’.  Ufortunately Pete missed out as he had been up all night coughing.

So we headed into the cool mountains (14 degrees) to see some beautiful waterfalls, a cloud forest complete with the King’s and Queen’s Pagodas, the highest point in Thailand at 2565m  and a Royal sponsored garden project (I guess to replace opium farming).

I also attempted to finish a bowl of the hottest curry I have ever tasted – flippin heck – it was so hot I couldn’t feel my mouth or lips for about half an hour afterwards!

Fred’s tours didn’ finish there, once back in Chiang Mai he took Pete and I to some local eateries where we had tea for less than £1 each followed by another stall doing the best banana rotee.  Love the Thai food – yum yum !
