Ooh where to start ?????? We spent a few days on the coast in Mui Ne. It is known (and surprisingly popular with Russian tourists) for its wind allowing for kite and wind surfing – or lots of local fishing in a most bizarre and unstable-looking sea-going vessel (like a big washing up bowl with a tiny engine).
Natural habitat for cows too, of course!
Along the coast the winds have helped to shape red and white sand dunes which are constantly changing.
I wasn’t too sure about the health and safety risk assessments that thought ot was a food idea to allow quad tours to hoon around the dunes at full throttle while tourists walk by. We did see one quad jump up and over the top of a dune where two people were obliviously taking selfies. It was close – eek!
On the way back, it was interesting when our jeep tour driver ran out of petrol and Pete had to help him syphon some from another tank.
Our accommodation (May Bungalows) was a new, family run guesthouse and they were so helpful with medical centre advice, tour info etc. They also had a gorgeous swimming pool which Janet was chuffed to recover enough to swim in on our last morning – bliss!
And just round the corner was a fab food court with 18 different types of food – how to choose each night ……..
A cool couple of days chilling and time to let Janet’s antibiotics start to take effect. Glad to say the swelling in her neck has gone down and she can once more turn her head without looking like something off Thunderbirds!
