With being busy and ill, off and on for 4 weeks, it took a deadline to go and see Luke before he headed back to NZ. He was an instructor our 1st season in Furano and had been here for 5 weeks, we met him his last night 🙈🙈 He and a few friends have bought a house 30 mins away so we drove there, had a skeet (4 big bedrooms), ate pizza, 🍺 and caught up.
We’d both been busy with work but had been battling through with a horrible sore throat and sinus issues……. in the end we had to be sensible and just totally relax on a few days off, get different drugs from the doctor before we managed to shift it. Luckily doctors are cheap and very good here and easy to get in and see, IOM take note.

Then all of a sudden it was that time of the season when instructors start heading home 😢 so we had a night bowling and a few nights at The Music Bar near us. All good fun and appropriate send offs to friends.

One of the Music Bar nights was because an ex-colleague, Mina, was preforming there, turns out she has a very powerful voice 😎

Work was busy and, nicely for us, we had lots of returning students coming back and asking for us. Sylvia, Chialian and Roxanne had been here in January and improved and enjoyed it so much came back early March 😎 It is so rewarding to see that. Then we had Karen (who Pete had taught at Club Med and who we met up with in Singapore), and her mate Helen, come back. We had a few beers and a nice meal on their last day. All improved again 👏

The only bad news (apart from being ill) was a cracked windscreen on our hire car !! From a stone chip. The first few times we drove it the crack got longer and longer !! Then as it got nearer the side it just stopped growing. The garage we rent from have agreed we can use it until we drop it off and then (after we pay a reasonable amount) they’ll replace it. Which is good as it saves a 2 hour drive each way to get it done earlier
