So I’m not sure where this year has gone but suddenly we found ourselves packing up the house once more to return to Furano in Japan. The summer has been a strange one with lots of good weather but unpredictable forecasts and wind meaning little evening kayaking and not much mountain biking but some evening road cycling with the lads.
So what have we been up to? Early on I did manage to complete the Raad Ny Foillan walk with Dionne. It is about 100 miles and we did it over 5 days.

Then there was a trip to Anglesey with the Adventure Club for kayaking, hill scrambling and coasteering.

A long weekend trip for Mums 80th to Saltburn on the Sea. Followed by a visit from my brother, all the way from Australia.

And a weekend trip to The Lakes District to celebrate Di’s 50th with the girls.

The last few weeks have been really busy with lots of leaving parties interspersed with all the packing. First I went to The Wirral to see my folks. Next had a Christmas night out with the Zumba girls. Then the Awards for Excellence – my leaving night with the charity guys.

Then an afternoon tea with the Girls Who Like to Dance and lastly a dinner and a little spa with the girls and boys two nights before we left.

It has been a bit crazy and it was nice to chill out when we got to London for a few days. We stayed with my cousin and her family for a few days. So day one was a trip into London to get our passports and visas from the Japanese Embassy – yippee ! And a visit to Ellis Brigham to get Pete’s new ski boots heat moulded. Day 2 was an adults only trip to eat our way around Borough Market and then a Mixilogy class at Harvey Nic’s. Day 3 was a walk with Emma followed by a trio to Stratford with everyone to play digi- darts. I won 2 games – who knew I was good at darts?

And now, we are packed and ready to go back to Japan. Furano here we come!!!!
