We have arrived in Sun Peaks and there is fresh snow!

We have arrived!

We met a few guys from the Winter Sports Company at Heathrow airport and then boarded a nine hour flight to Vancouver during which we actually sat next to one of our fellow snowboarders. We all successfully cleared immigration and took another hour flight to Kamloops. Then got a shuttle bus transfer for about 40 mins. By then it was about 6am GMT and we were shattered. It was lovely to see this view from our window though.

A quick unpack and we are settled for the next 18 weeks in our studio hotel room.

Thankfully we have a bath and also two communal hot tubs to soak our aching muscles !

After a bit of a restless sleep we awoke to see this from our window.

Everyone met at 8.20am for breakfast followed by an orientation around the resort. And then to collect our season lift passes.

We couldn’t wait to get on the slopes. The snow is pretty good and the pistes are mega wide and empty – bliss!

Tomorrow is day one of our Level 1 snowboard instructor’s course and we have about three weeks until we take the exam – best buckle down and do some work starting tomorrow.
